They say that millennial pink, glitter and unicorns are due to feature heavily this year, after searches for these trends increased significantly last year.
Pinterest saw searches for ‘pink kitchen accessories’ leap 234 per cent from July to October 2017, compared to the same period in 2016;
“Unicorn-inspired kitchens are set to be the ‘mane event’ for 2018. It’s clear Britons are getting braver with their home improvement choices and thinking creatively about how to bring trends to life in their own home,” Mike Lavers, Market Manager for Kitchens at B&Q said in a B&Q press release.
‘Unicorn’ design includes pastel rainbow designs and ombre looks. Pink and purple feature predominantly, not surprising when violet is tipped to be the colour of 2018. Plus glitter. Of course.
This follows a year of ‘peak unicorn’ according to New Statesman, which saw the highly Instagramable unicorn Frappuccino’s launched by Starbucks. It was not the only company to launch unicorn-related merchandise last year, in a bid to get on board with the trend.
